New Look for Google AdWords

Feb 5, 2014

Have you seen the new look for Google Adwords?

In the past Google Adwords were listed at the top and on the right side in a yellow box. It was real easy to notice that they were ads and that might have prevented a lot of people from clicking on them. They knew that the listing was being paid for and that it might not have quality information on the site.

Now, Google has redesigned the look and now it looks more like an organic listing. There are no yellow boxes or anything that jumps out at you right away. The ads are still located at the top and the right side of the search engine but there is only a little yellow box on the left side that says “Ad.”

Will this new look help Google earn more money? Will this new look result in better click rates for websites?

I think this new look will result in more clicks because it looks more like a normal organic listing. Websites are listed higher in search results because of the quality content and relevancy of the keywords. So, if the ads look like a normal listing they will be clicked on because of how high they rank on the search engine.
