Summerize Your Auto Repair Shop’s Website

May 9th, 2016

You had to winterize your website, just like you had to winterize your customer’s vehicles. Now it is time to start updating your website to help get your customers’ vehicle ready for the summer. Summer is coming and that means hot weather is on the way. How can you help your customers prepare for the heat?

You can make your customers aware that they need to prepare for the heat by updating your website with relevant information such as summer car care tips. They will be looking for answers to questions regarding the cooling system, fluids, brakes, tires, and more. It would be great to have testimonials on those services and to make sure that all of those summer auto maintenance services are listed on your website.

You can also bring in more business during the summer by running seasonal promotions. This is possible through the coupon section on your website, and your customers are able to print them out. Some good examples of specials include: FREE Cooling System Check or Summer Tune-up.

Mobile-Friendliness to Impact Google Search Results on April 21, 2015

March 5th, 2015

We wrote a blog post back on November 21st titled “Recent Google Changes Make Mobile Sites More Visible Than Ever”. We discussed how Google was starting to tell users which sites were mobile-friendly, and how this could hurt results of websites without mobile features.

Their most recent change will have an even bigger impact.  According to Google, Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results.” Sites without mobile versions will have a major drop in rankings as a result of this change.

Google rarely announces changes like this – they’ve likely done this because of the large number of sites which will disappear from top search results.  This change will hurt the search rankings of millions of sites that aren’t mobile-friendly.

The great news is that all customers on our Pro+Mobile, Pro+Connect, and Pro+Engage packages will actually benefit from this change – their sites will replace non-mobile sites on Google’s search engine starting in late April.  If you’re not using one of these newer packages, however, we recommend you call us  at 855-349-5289 so we can tell you more about what this change means for you and how we can help you move up the rankings instead of down.

Google’s Latest Update – Now Displays Blue Call-To-Action Linking To Third Party Site

February 5th, 2015

As an auto repair shop you need to be seen as the expert in the automotive industry. We are here to help you achieve this level of credibility online. We are doing this by keeping your website up to date with the latest search engine and website updates.

What has Google done now? Google’s latest update has simplified the user experience, and improved their search results. Google is now displaying a blue call to action with a hyperlink to another site when you perform a specific search. For example when you type in “How to perform oil change,” Google displays an answer box with an answer, and a blue link to another site for more information.

If you want to earn credibility, and your customer’s trust, you need to be able to answer their questions, and solve their problems.

Google has not yet released how to be qualified for this third party blue call to action. But, we will continue to follow them and keep you up to date with the latest search engine news. If you have questions about Google give us a call at 855-349-5289, or just stay tuned for the next update.

Recent Google Changes Make Mobile Sites More Visible Than Ever

November 21st, 2014

As an auto shop owner, a mobile-friendly site has always been important – 30% of all internet searching  is done on phones and tablets, and that’s also what stranded motorists will use to search for a shop.  Google’s recent “mobile-friendly” labels make a mobile site even more important.

The new change allows mobile phone users to see whether a site is designed for a phone before they click on it – and phone users are unlikely to visit sites that don’t display correctly.  Shops with mobile-friendly sites will get more clicks and more calls, while those without a mobile site will likely be ignored by phone users.

This will benefit all of our Pro+Mobile and Pro+Connect customers – we’ve already designed a mobile site for your shop, helping you stand out from the competition.  If you’re unsure of whether you have a mobile site or you’d like to learn more about mobile sites, call us today at 855-349-5289.
