2015 Online Marketing Trends

January 9, 2015

A new year means more changes. The only thing that you can successfully predict for 2015 is that it will bring more changes to technology and the internet. But we can look back at 2014, and use that to see where 2015 will take us.

The year of 2014 was all about content marketing, social media marketing, and image content. The content on your website needed to be of high quality and unique. Social media needed to be diverse. Image content needed to be both entertaining and informational.

What are some trends that will show up or continue in 2015?

  • Mobile-optimization – Mobile friendly websites are more important than ever. Google changed their search engine to show if a site is mobile friendly. If your customer is on a mobile device and your site isn’t mobile friendly, it won’t be clicked on. Google made this change because sites that aren’t mobile-friendly don’t work well on mobile devices. Why not make it easier for your customers to learn about your business, and contact you?
  • Content is still the KING – If you want your customers to find your website on search engines, you need to have relevant, and high quality content. Your customers go to search engines to answer questions, find places, and shop. Your website needs to have content that is relevant to the services you offer and the services that your customers are looking for online.
  • Social Media – Social Media continues to be an important factor when it comes to connecting with your customers and enhancing your brand image. Stay active with posting, and put a face on your brand.
  • Your Brand’s Story – Get personal with your customers. Use your website to show your customers what your repair shop is all about. Add new pictures, update the design, add your logo, and add positive customer testimonials. This will help the website visitor understand that your shop is qualified to service their vehicle.
  • Videos – The most entertaining and most shareable content on the web are videos. Videos can entertain, inform, and persuade. If you create a video that has all three, it will be seen and shared. Creating a video for your business will improve website traffic, and traffic into your bays.
  • Wearable Technology – Technology companies came out with glasses, and watches that surf the internet. Why not prepare for what the future will bring? One way to stay ahead of the competition is to think about: How do you market to these customers who wear this technology?
